Significance of Soft Skills and The balance between Hard Skills and Soft Skills

Today's world is a competitive arena. So only the person with good skills (soft and hard skills) survive. In order to be a man of value, one needs to develop their hard skills and soft skills. Hard skills are in the technical side like math, programming and other subject related stuff. It is easily quantifiable. But soft skills are harder to get and it depends on personal traits and character and other emotional characteristics.
If you ask someone to define soft skills, chances are you will be gettting a similar but obscure answers. Soft skills are what you call “Behavioral skills” i.e, the ability to interact with others in an effective and constructive way.
Most students focus more on gaining knowledge and uploading every bit of information into their brain but they totally leave behind other important skills which will decide their career.

You can be technically strong in a subject or a topic but if you lack soft skills like communication skills, leadership skills, critical thinking etc. Then you will significantly lower your chance of getting employed.

Soft skills are much more important than you think and it can't be dismissed out of hand.Soft skills not only helps you in your job interviews and resumes but also helps you to apply your knowledge and intellect in a productive manner.

On the contrast, If you have good social and communication skills and other soft skills but lack in technical areas, chances are you won't be getting a job easily. The trick is in finding the balance between these too. Focusing on both technical and non-technical skills and developing both of them is the only way to survive in this world.
