Music - An Art Form that can Augment humanity
Being
a musician myself, I can say that music is not just an art form. Its
more than that. It is considered as the most effective way of
communication. You couldn't memorize a line or paragraph but you
could remember the words of hundreds of songs. Why is that? Its as if
you are being pulled into a different dimension, a reality where you
could explore and understand yourself better. Music plays with your
emotion and connects with you like no other means of communication.

We
teach Rhymes to small kids instead of skipping straight to paragraph
writing or something like that. Its because Music has the power to
penetrate deep into your mind and plant an idea or words (Like
Inception, I know right?!).
It
enraptures you and immediately puts you in some kind of emotional
trance.
Music
plays an very important role in shaping our physical and mental
health. Its widely being ignored or under rated as a means of
therapy. It affects your brain in ways that you don't realize.
Listening to music won't make you any smarter than you actually are
but it can productively impact your brain in some other ways. It
plays with your emotions, can make you physically active and mentally
strong, can fill you with positive and fresh thoughts.
It
is often used for brain therapy to treat Alzheimer patients.
Researchers found that music can access deeper neural pathways and
help patients to dig up stored intellect of words through songs and
can help establish a link for coherent usage of words in speech. It
is also used in other brain injury treatments like treating stroke
patients as music has the ability to amplify cognitive functions.
It
also improves your speech and motor skills and helps you perform
better in different activities.
The
Rhythmic tone of a music acts as predictive stimulus and makes your
brain to coordinate with that Rhythm. This greatly improves and
enhances your predicting skills and other motor skills. It makes your
brain more active and amplifies your situational awareness.
Playing
musical instruments is a fantastic way to express yourself when you
are lost for words. It opens up your inner self and shows who you
truly are. Studies show that those who play musical instruments not
only have higher IQ but also have greater visual and verbal skills
(Not sure in my case). It keeps both your left part and right
part of the brain working which results in improved hand-eye
coordination.
Music
helps you to explore yourself and opens up your imagination and
creativity. It has the power to carry important messages to the
public easily. So don't consider music as just a hobby or something
you do when your bored. It is more than that and has actual value to
it and greater significance that can shape and re-frame the future of the
humanity.
